PROJECT TIP: Have a jar of clean water handy to help ink flow when blending.
Step 1: Basic Strokes: All letters are made up of these basic strokes. When trying to
improve your lettering, building up muscle memory is key and practicing the basic
strokes are a great warm up! Lettering guides like the Brea Reese guides are a great
tool to build that memory and learn how to control your pressure.
Step 2: Blending; Alternate colors for each stroke, *you can dip the tip of your
waterbrush into the clean water just slightly to help with ink flow if needed.
Step 3: Repetition is KEY when it comes to brush lettering. It’s all about muscle memory
and pressure variation, so don’t give up! Practice makes progress!
